Two Pitchers Team Up As Boswell Pioneers Shuts Out Canyon

Boswell hosted the annual Boswell Varsity Baseball Tournament March 2-4, 2017.

Boswell Pioneers Varsity defeated Canyon 7-0 in game two of the tournament as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. An early lead helped propel the Pioneers Varsity to victory. Boswell scored on a double by Hunter Harp in the first inning, a walk by Gabe Kurtzhals in the second inning, and a walk by Harp in the second inning. Boswell Pioneers Varsity captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for the Pioneers. Boswell scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by, Branson Paris and a groundout by, Chris Neel.

J.J. Lundquist-Irvin earned the win for Boswell Pioneers. He threw five innings, surrendering zero runs, two hits, and striking out seven. Paris and Delgado each collected two hits to lead the Pioneers. Boswell didn't commit a single error in the field. Jake Mueller had the most chances in the field with ten. Hayden Ring induced a fly out from Hamby to finish off the game.
