The Pioneers' Drop Game Two Against Lake Dallas Ending Their Season

Pioneers musters 10 hits, drops 12-6 contest to Lake Dallas for the Bi-District Championship.

Despite a big day at the dish from Chris Delgado, who finished 2-3, Pioneers lost 12-6 to Lake Dallas at Northwest High School on Friday, May 6th. He doubled in the third and fifth innings. Ty Behringer got the win for Lake Dallas . He allowed four runs over 4 1/3 innings. Behringer struck out one, walked one and gave up five hits. Gabe Kurtzhals was charged with the loss at the mound, allowing 10 runs in 4 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out seven.

The top of the third saw Pioneers took an early lead, 1-0. Pioneers' threat began with a double by Blake Foster. A passed ball then moved him from second to third. Chris Delgado's doubled plated Blake Foster.

It didn't take long for Lake Dallas to respond as it scored four runs of its own in the third. Lake Dallas scored on a two-run home run by Christian Boulware, an RBI single by Jakob Machuca, and an RBI single by Ben Williamson.

Lake Dallas built upon its lead with five runs in the fifth. A error scored Nestor Vasquez to get Lake Dallas on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Parker Tuck's double, plating Ben McConnell and LD Cowell.

Two Pioneers runs crossed the plate in the top half of the seventh, making the score 12-6. An RBI single by Ulysses Cantu and a sacrifice fly by Zach Hood sparked Pioneers' rally. The game went final when Branson Paris struck out.
