Jalen Seals selected to compete in the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational Track Meet in Havana, Cuba

Outdoor Track & Field - Fri, Apr. 1, 2016

Boswell High School is proud to announce Jalen Seals, junior, has recently been selected to represent the United States at the Caribbean Scholastic Invitational track meet in Havana, Cuba.  This event is sponsored by the National Scholastic Athletics Foundation (NSAF) and only 28 athletes total are chosen to represent the United States each year.

This is the 10th Annual CSI, a joint international development track and field meet and cultural exchange hosted by the NSAF and the Athletics Federation of Cuba. Created to expose young American high school athletes to international competition, the event was held for 8 years in Puerto Rico and in Cuba in 2015. The track and field meet is expected to have competitors from the Caribbean and Central America, as well as a component of the Barrientos Memorial, a large historic, elite track and field meet in Cuba.

Team NSAF selection is based on a number of factors, the most important of which is the athlete's potential to represent his country in the future. Every reasonable effort is made by the NSAF to simulate the "national team competition" experience as closely as possible. Team NSAF will be accompanied by NSAF managers, coaches and a full medical staff including a medical doctor, sports psychologist, massage therapist and trainer.

Jalen is extremely honored to be chosen for this prestigious event.  The Boswell staff and students are proud of his accomplishments and ability to represent Boswell High School, EMS ISD, the state of Texas and the United States in this incredible event.  Way to go Jalen!
