Lady Pioneer Golf Team Finishes 6 Strokes Away From Making State At Regionals

Girl's Spring Golf - Thu, Apr. 16, 2015

The varsity girls played in the Region 1 Regional Golf Tournament this week held at Rawls Golf Club in Lubbock.  Day one was the worst conditions they have faced all year with wind gusts up to 40 mph and driving rain.  The round on day one was suspended midway through forcing them to finish their first round on day two.  After round one the girls were 6 shots out of 3rd place and qualifying for the state tournament in Austin.  The second round was better, the girls caught up and passed the 3rd place team.  In the end, the 5th place team passed them forcing the Lady Pioneers to a 4th place finish knocking them out of the running for State.  The girls finished 4th out of 16 teams overall.  Low rounds for the team were Madison Barber-80, Savannah Battle-88, and Emily Moore-89.  The girls had a successful season with great accomplishments individually and as a team.
