The Lady Pioneers Fall To The Lady Rough Riders At Saginaw

Pioneers fell to Saginaw at Saginaw Monday. Lenth recorded the win for Saginaw. She allowed four runs over seven innings. Lenth struck out two, walked two and gave up seven hits. Brittany Sharp was the game's losing pitcher. She allowed nine runs in six innings, walked none and struck out six. The game's last lead went to Saginaw thanks to a first inning rally that saw one run cross the plate on an RBI single by Huseman. Saginaw piled on three more runs in the bottom of the third. A clutch ground out scored Lenth to open the scoring in the frame. Two runs in the top of the fourth helped Pioneers close its deficit to 4-2. A two-run double by Paige Horton sparked Pioneers' rally. After pushing across one run in the top of the fifth, Pioneers faced just a 5-3 deficit. Saginaw increased its lead with four runs in the sixth. Charlton doubled, scoring Huseman to start the inning. One run in the top of the seventh helped Pioneers close its deficit to 9-4. An RBI double by Palomino triggered Pioneers' comeback.
